The Trojan Effect: Hidden Problems That Could Be Disrupting Your Business

September 12, 2018 2:24 pm

In order for any business to be run as smoothly as possible, it is necessary to make sure that it is being overlooked in the most rigid manner possible. Of course, in practice even the most experienced business owner is not able to always have their eye on every single detail within the business, as much as you would want to. Nonetheless, an eye for detail is important, and you will find that it is valuable to try and focus and hone in on details as much as you can in your business. But it helps if you have a few pointers to begin with as to where exactly you should look, and that is what we are going to look into here. There are a few specific problems which are so small that you wouldn’t notice them, and yet they’re common to many businesses. Discovering these could make a world of difference.

Poor Software Usage

You might well have checked that you are employing the right software brand and so on, but have you done everything in your power to make sure that you are using it correctly, or that your colleagues are using it correctly? The fact is that you can have the best software in the world, but if your people are subtly misusing it, it could make a huge difference to your business in a way you might not even be aware of for a long time. One way around this is to try and make sure that you train them regularly and with the right professionals helping you. That could mean using an Excel consultancy or whatever it might be, so long as you can be sure that the software in question is being used properly and effectively.

An Undermining Rival

You know that you need to have a strong awareness of what your competitors are doing, but it is impossible to be aware of every single thing they are up to at all times. Sometimes the issue is simply that there is another business out there undermining yours in some small way that you can’t even spot for a long time. They might be undercutting your pricing slightly, providing a different kind of service, whatever it might be. The only response is to up your game, and try your hardest to work towards the best version of your business that you can personally imagine for it.

Overuse Of Energy

Do you leave the office computers on at night? What about the lights? This is a common practice, and yet it is likely that it is disrupting your business more than you might know. When you overuse energy in this way and to this degree, all you are doing is ensuring that your business is wasting money. If you want to rein your business in, you will need to make sure that you are not doing this – however long it takes to get that kind of practice put into place.
