How to Stay Motivated with Your Post-January Health Goals

February 4, 2019 11:43 am

For most, the ending of January feels like the lifting of a great weight. The long, hard month of no alcohol is over, the Christmas financial hangover is all but gone, and the desire and need to stick to New Year resolutions is forgotten. Something that shouldn’t end with the ending of January, however, is the need for you to remain healthy.

If you feel your motivation to stick to your health goals wavers as February sets in, then you should be willing to take some advice on the matter. Fortunately, such advice can be found below.

Right the wrongs of January

Now that you’re one month into 2019 you have the luxury of being able to look back and see where you’ve been going wrong. As you still have 11 months to go in the year, you also have the time to be able to right any wrongs that you unearth.

If you look back and feel that your work commitments stopped you from preparing nutritious meals for yourself, for instance, then your post-January goal should be to find time in your schedule for healthy eating. This doesn’t necessarily have to mean cutting down on the hours that you devote to your work, either. Even on the busiest of days, there are ways for you to sit down and have a nutritious meal, and this is because of food delivery services — no, this doesn’t mean ordering a Big Mac from Uber Eats! This means using a service such as Result Plan. After taking their nutritional assessment they will be able to see exactly what you need in your diet. They will then customise your plan to ensure each meal that you receive from them helps you in your quest to better your health. Finally, whether you choose breakfast, lunch or dinner, they will deliver your personalised meal straight to your door.

By admitting to your faults in this way and then finding a way to work around them, your task of remaining healthy throughout 2019 will be made much easier.

Keep trying new things

Many people give up on their new year fitness regime once the first month is over because they get bored of them. In order to avoid this very common plight, you should resolve to try new things. This could mean finding a new area to run through, trying out different classes or, if you haven’t been tied down a year-long contract, finding yourself a new gym. Whatever you need to do to freshen up your regime, do it.

Getting yourself motivated to get fit and healthy is easy on January 1st. It’s a time of new beginnings, a chance to put the past behind you and move forward. Motivation starts to waver, though, once reality sets in and the year starts to move forward. If you want 2019 to be the year you finally get yourself in good shape, though, then you need to be just as dedicated on February 1st as you were in the new year. To do that, you need to constantly remind yourself of your long-term goals, and you have to put the above advice into practice.
