Failed to Update Your Consumer Electronics Gear in Years? Here’s What to Upgrade First

May 26, 2020 10:43 am

If you’ve been focused on other areas of your life and realise that you’ve fallen behind the times, isn’t it now time for a total upgrade? Budgets won’t stretch to the moon, so it’s useful to look at what your options are to determine which consumer items are the most critical first.

Even if you cannot get everything upgraded this year, at least by prioritising your purchases, you’ll get the most pleasure or use out of them sooner.

Let’s look at what some of the better options might be of which electronics to upgrade first.

Splash Out on Several QLED Panel TVs

While big TVs aren’t a new thing, the technology behind them has shrunk their size and improved their picture and sound quality along with it.

The latest OLED TVs bring quantum dot technologies to the screen which have now passed all the relevant safety testing for consumers.

Essentially, it uses quantum dots which in laymen’s terms means advanced filtering systems and semiconductor particles to produce a display of unquestionable beauty. It’s also at least an Ultra 4K resolution and is bright at 1,500 or greater nits for pure brightness.

Also, there are OLED panels if you prefer those. Each has its pros and cons, so it pays to do a bit of research as this is a major purchase. If you’re big into watching TV shows and films at home, then upgrading here could be something you’d enjoy daily.

Increase Your Productivity at Home and Work with a Tablet

Tablets have their uses – especially for home use. Sure, they can be great for kids wanting to play games, but for adults, they’re also a handy way to keep an eye on things while you’re busy on your laptop. For instance, keeping current with the latest news or reviewing the outstanding tasks for your remote team using the Google Sheets app is entirely possible.

To get the latest Samsung S6 tablet or another model in their range, you’ll have to dig deep. They’re feature-packed and have glorious displays that are a joy to behold. Fortunately, if you have any recent Samsung discount codes, it’s possible to reduce the costs a bit.

How will you use a tablet at home? Of course, you can bring it to work with you too. Portable cases that turn into keyboards extend the functionality for a pleasant typing experience. Maybe the price reduction you might receive from finding Samsung discount codes will leave something left in the budget for some choice tablet accessories too?

Does Your Phone Need a Refresh?

If your smartphone is looking a little tired around the edges and doesn’t move quickly compared to the past, should you refresh it for a new model?

The technology here has moved on. Now the processors are impressively quick for a phone, the storage is better, and the expansion card slot handles larger external microSD cards now too.

You can also keep up with the latest news, updates, and notifications at the touch of the screen without worrying about your battery dying on you.

So, what will you upgrade first? Ask yourself what you will get the most use out of – that’s always a good place to start.
