What Should a Business Post on Instagram?

December 11, 2019 12:45 pm

If you’ve just started a business, then you should definitely set up an Instagram account. It’s easy to do, you just sign up for an account, set up your profile, but then you hit a hurdle… what exactly should you post? This is a problem that a lot of people face, as they want to make sure that they post the right sort of thing on Instagram.

You’re probably wondering how to use images and short videos to enhance your customers’ experience? Just bear in mind though, that even if you publish one great video, you need to make sure that you do so again. One is not enough. To make life a lot easier for you and your business, you could always make the most of an instagram scheduler, so that you can plan your posts well in advance and not have to worry about your Instagram being empty.

Show What You Do in a Creative Way

You should never just focus on the product you sell. If you sell a service, then you need to show your audience the benefits of your product. It’s so important to add value to your customers (but also making it look nice). If your business is service oriented for example, then you should make sure to show the process behind it. How does it work? How do you get the end result? Are your customers happy?

People like to see the company culture; they like to see how you work. This helps them visualise if you are a good fit for them and their needs. If they can see themselves in need of something that you are showing in your Instagram, then they are more likely to use you. Don’t forget to make use of the Instagram stories as well, as they create a fun and engaging way to get your audience involved in your brand.

Take Them Behind the Scenes

People love to see what goes on behind closed doors. They want to feel included in your business. Now, you don’t have to physically take them around your business, instead you can use Instagram to give the people what they want. People are naturally curious about all things that go on in their lives. They’ll be more supportive of companies that they feel like they know.

For example, if you sell environmentally friendly or Fairtrade products, then you will probably find that people appreciate this a lot more than for other companies. You can show people where they products come from and even show them their whole lifecycle if you so wish. This will differ for each company, so it’s a good idea to try out different stuff until you find something that strikes gold and keeps your audience happy.

Create a Winning Profile

If your profile doesn’t look good, then people aren’t going to go on it. You need to make sure that you update your profile regularly and that it has relevant content on it. When it comes to setting up your profile you need to make sure that it details the next big thing that your company is doing (e.g. an event, promotion, product launch). You need to make sure that your audience can see it. Don’t just use the Bio section for a link to your website either, you can do so much more with it. A lot of people forget about this section, however, it’s really important to update it regularly, so that your audience is up to date. They’ll really appreciate it, so it’s totally worthwhile doing.
