Three Reasons to Give up Your Car- And Buy a Motorbike Instead!

July 4, 2018 12:17 pm

Do you really need a car? Sure, you might need transport, but is there a better option for you? If most of the journeys you do are by yourself, or you already have a car in your household driven by your partner then is another really necessary? Unless you’re responsible for driving your children around or regularly have passengers then perhaps switching to a motorbike could be a better option? Here are a few ideas why. (and while you are considering to sell off you car, which you will after you read the entire post, try this link to find the best place where you can get a good amount for your car)

It’s Cheaper

Motorbikes are cheaper to run and maintain than cars. Although you should remember that you can claim a refund for constant repair form your car dealer (truck Lemon Law attorney can explain this in details). They’re usually cheaper to buy, less expensive on tax and cheaper to repair. If you have a little mechanical know- how you might even be able to fix any problems yourself, sites like solomotoparts.com have everything you’d need. One of the ways you will make the most savings is with fuel. Motorbikes use far less fuel so if you’re making lots of journeys and struggling to keep up with petrol or diesel costs then this is a good option. Finally, insurance is one of the biggest costs to cover when you own a vehicle. While your insurance quote will depend on everything from your driving history to your vehicle to where you live, in general motorbike insurance is around half of what you’d pay for your car. If you need to get around but costs are mounting up, this is another form of transportation which is far less expensive.

It’s Safer

One of the reasons that you might have decided against a motorbike is safety concerns. And this is valid, when crashes involving motorcyclists occur, they tend to be more serious. However, statistics show that it’s actually safer to ride a motorbike than drive a car. Not only do you have a better view of the road but you can hear more, and you’re also likely to be more cautious. Drivers give a wider berth and tend to be more careful around motorcycles than they are cars. It goes without saying that your skill and experience will come into play here, and you will need to be riding safely and taking all the right precautions. If you’re new to motorbiking, start by riding at quieter times a day and build up your skill. Gradually work your way up to busier times of day.

It’s Fun

Riding a motorbike is truly an exhilarating experience. In a world that’s dominated by work, paying bills and generally having to do things we don’t want to do- a little fun can be just what the doctor ordered. Not only is a normal ride exciting but you can meet with other enthusiasts and go on joint rides together. It’s a great way to socialise and meet people as you all have a shared interest. If you want to ride fast, there are motorbike track days that you can book so you can go about this in a safe way.
