The Art Of Building Your Business Team

July 23, 2021 11:46 am

Employees are the image of our company. This is the person your customer will see every day. It is therefore essential that this person meet the needs you want. They must of course be competent. And also have the right behavior. It is therefore essential to be well prepared to recruit the right candidate. This is going to help your business, as an entrepreneur or newbie.

Basic preparation

Very often, recruiters skip this step to save time. However, recruiting costs money and time. So you better be well prepared to recruit the ideal person. The more you focus on your needs, the more you will see the right candidate when you meet them. Establishing the profile of the candidate sought is sometimes complicated for some. Thinking about the job you need to cover, what physical and mental skills does the employee need to have? Are you wanting to hire someone with expertise that lives abroad? In this case, you may have to look at some information such as sponsor licence appendix a.

For some positions, the employee will have written reports to make. Then you will have to make sure that the candidate will be able to express themself well enough. Do they need to speak English and another language, such as Spanish? Or just one language? You could also choose to give tests to the 2-3 candidates who qualify such as personality tests, psychometric tests or even aptitude tests. This way you can really get into their minds and ensure that they are the right people for the job.

Internal recruitment?

You could post the job through an internal email, for example. Share this with your supervisors and team leaders. They can see the potential of certain key employees. However, even if you are hiring internally, you should respect your hiring process. Some companies post internally first and then go external if they can’t find it in-house.

External recruitment?

LinkedIn:  Of course, you will need to have an account. This will also be able to serve you with your customers, suppliers as well as your prospective customers. You could ask your contacts to share your request. There are also some specific pages dedicated to recruiting.

Facebook:  You could send the job posting to your own profile, your company page, or both. The advantage is that your friends and acquaintances will be happy to forward your job posting. Additionally, you could post your position on multiple Facebook job pages. Search by region and you will have several choices.

Your website is also a great source for recruiting, as long as you keep the job page up to date.

There are also regional newspapers. In some remote areas, job posting goes through the local newspapers very often. In addition, the cost is low for this type of display. Unfortunately, written newspapers have lost popularity, but they are still read by some people! Don’t despair, afterall, even your local shop window can be a good place to ask for candidates!
