Staying Motivated While Freelancing

February 19, 2021 11:57 am

It can be tough staying motivated when your freelancing isn’t being as lucrative as it could be. It can be hard to stay motivated; however, with these simple tips, you can help to truck through the more challenging times.

Goals

Even if you don’t work lined up, you can be setting goals that feed into your work. Make a list of objectives every day that you will achieve, and make sure that they all support the goal of making money.

Work Place

Create a place in your home that is dedicated to working. This will train your brain to fire up and get into work mode when you are in that area. This will also mean you don’t have to carry all of your work items around the house each day.

Try to make sure there is a window nearby so you can benefit from a breeze too.

Focus

Mobile phones and instant messaging are two of the biggest distractions. Here are a few quick tips for reducing distractions:

  • Create a time in the day to check in with messages that aren’t work-related
  • Flip your phone over or put it in a drawer
  • Take five or ten-minute breaks at regular intervals.
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Try playlists that are designed to increase and improve focus.

Inspiration

Inspiration can come from the strangest of places, so you must try new things so that you can keep them fresh. Museums, art galleries, even overhearing conversations, can give you so much inspiration.

Increasing your income streams can also be very helpful. Check out this infographic with all sorts of freelance tips.
