How to Stay Fit and Motivated as a Couple This Winter

January 12, 2021 3:09 pm

Winter might feel like a time to hibernate, but when Spring rolls around and you feel lazy, or you’ve gained a few extra pounds, you might regret not doing something sooner. Thankfully, winter doesn’t have to be a time of laziness – especially if you’re in a relationship.

There are plenty of ways to stay fit and motivated as a couple, especially because you can hold each other accountable, encourage one another, and track your progress to achieve your goals.

Getting started in a health and fitness routine with your partner is easier. Try taking a fitness class together that will hold you both accountable. Or, if you don’t have schedules that will allow for that, then sit down and make gym goals for yourself. Decide how many times you will both go each week, what you’ll do, and how long you will be there. Having things written down in a schedule can make them feel more concrete and may encourage you both to keep going.

In addition to working out, you can also stay healthy and fit by changing your diets. Go grocery shopping together and pick out ingredients for healthy meals. You can turn cooking dinner into a “date night,” and follow it up with a bike ride around the neighborhood. Staying fit doesn’t always mean spending hours at the gym. You’re more likely to stick with it if you do things you enjoy. Once you’ve reached some of your goals, don’t be afraid to treat yourself with something like high-quality workout apparel. You can shop the his &  hers collection to get some ideas about what you might like.

Having a partner with you on your fitness journey will make it easier to stick with it, and will help to get you both in the best shape of your lives.
