Congratulations on getting your motorbike license and buying your first motorcycle – after all that practice and research. The next thing is to hit the road with your two-wheeled machine and enjoy the breeze on your face. Riding a bike can be liberating and exciting, and here are five activities to engage in to get the most out of your motorcycle.

  1. Attend motorcycle exhibitions and expos

Every year, motorcycle manufacturers get together at event centres to showcase or present the latest motorcycle models and accessories. For the bike lover, these are great opportunities to check out new trends. You will get to see live demonstrations, meet professional or amateur motorcyclists, and buy new kits. You will also get the chance to interact with other bikers and share your similar interests, which is also a perfect opportunity to learn more about your machine. You can start by visiting the Motorcycle Live event in Birmingham, one of the many motorcycling expos across the UK.

  1. Road tours

This activity is a type of tourism that involves travelling with a motorcycle. You can start small by going on road tours within the UK. You can ride through and enjoy the scenic routes of the rugged Scottish highlands or the expansive hills in Wales. Or if you want more challenging terrains, explore North America, Eastern and Western Europe, and Northern Africa. Before embarking on a road tour, you will need to plan extensively. Your preparation should cover things like getting your motorcycle in top-notch shape to ensure it can take you on long-distance journeys, and there is enough space for storing luggage. You will also need to plan for food, accommodation, fuel purchases and travel insurance. Prioritize your safety and make provisions to prevent unfortunate events altogether. Thankfully, there are many specialists and independent motorcycle tour operators who offer guided, self-guided or personalised tours all over the world. You can check out Magellan motorcycle tours, for example, if you’re considering going on one soon.

  1. Join a motorcycle group

There’s nothing more exciting than finding the right group of people who share in your love for motorcycles and its related activities. Luckily, there are many motorcycle clubs and associations to join; all you have to do is look or ask around about them. Better still, conduct a quick google search about such groups in your area, and you are good to go. It might be beneficial to you because not only will you get to meet other like-minded individuals, but you can also learn how to be a more responsible rider. You’ll also get the chance to ride in groups, which is always much safer and fun than riding solo. Plus, you can make a fashion statement with those group leather jackets. There are many popular UK riding groups to join, that will be as delighted to have you. So, you can check them out.

  1. Customise your motorcycle

Do you want your motorcycle to reflect your personality? Then consider customising your bike. With so many designs and colours to choose from, upgrading your bike can be a fun activity to do. But you don’t have to make huge and expensive upgrades all at once. You can start small if you are customising on a tight budget. You can use the internet’s many resources to find DIY projects to try on your bike. You can also get a customised number or nameplates, get some wheel lights, custom decals, and even add a tint to your windscreen.

  1. Attend motorcycle rallies

A motorcycle rally is a large or small gathering of motorcycle fans and lovers, and it is such a thrill to witness such events. One of the biggest rallies in Europe is the Thundersprint held in Cheshire, England. There are many special races where big motorcycle brands send their best motorcycles and bikers to compete. You can check with local events sites to find the closest dates and locations if you are interested in attending.

  1. Motorbike racing

If you are a more experienced rider looking to explore more ways to have fun with your vehicle, then you should consider going into motorbike racing. You will need to get a Road Racing License, but you can only do so if you are a member of a racing club that is affiliated to the Auto-Cycle Union (ACU). Once you go through the required steps, your club will alert you whenever there are available races. To become a professional racer, you will definitely need to practice a lot.
