Summer, the time when everyone can let their hair down and have some fun outdoors! Or at least that’s what we see on the big screen. In reality summer is the time when we all go and see the big blockbuster movies that are almost guaranteed to be the best films of the year! I have put together a list of what I think will be this summers must see films.

films 5. White House Down

Staring Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum, an armed paramilitary group causes terror and chaos in America by   taking over the White House, Tatum has to save the president and America from falling to it’s knees! A film full of non-stop action and a must see this summer! It has recently been described as “Die Hard meets Air Force One”.

Release date: 28th June 2013 (USA) 6th September 2013 (UK)

films4. Monsters University

Need I say anymore, the much anticipated sequel to Monsters inc. A film that nobody can miss! John Goodman and Billy Crystal are back as Mike and Sully. In this film we take a trip down memory lane and find out why Mike and Sully weren’t best friends in university. A must see!

Release date: 20th June 2013 (USA) 12 July 2013 (UK)

films3. Pacific Rim

Produced and directed by Guillermo del Toro, this film looks spectacular visually. When monsters identified as Kaiju rise from beneath the ocean, they terrorise the world forcing us humans to fight back. All the trailers indicate it will be a feast for the eyes. So I recommend you go and see it in IMAX 3D if you can!

Release date: 12th July 2013 (Worldwide)

2. World War Z

Based on the much loved book, Brad Pitt stars in what seems to be one of the most exiting films of the summer, when the earth is the victim to a zombie apocalypse, it is up to Pitt’s character to save the day! One of the most anticipated movies this year I’m sure it won’t let us down. Who doesn’t like a good film about the world ending?

Release date: 21st June 2013 (Worldwide)

films1. The Lone Ranger

Staring Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer, this film is almost guaranteed to be the best film of the summer, possibly of the year! A big screen adaptation of the very popular 1950’s TV show, this film has a lot to live up to but I’m sure it will be brilliant! The cast and crew are the best in the business at the moment all on top of their game. Are you exgited? You should be!
