Are you somebody who likes to stand out from the crowd? Then why not add a real sense of individualism to your own little sanctuary – the bedroom. There are plenty of bedroom style tips out there (we’re looking at you, Pinterest) so you’re never short of inspiration when it comes to design if you know where to look. Thankfully, today you won’t have to look very far: Here are a few of our top tips for making your bedroom stand out from the crowd!
Utilise a Feature Wall
Making one of the walls in your bedroom a completely different colour/pattern from the other three can help to make the room appear far bolder and much more striking. There are a plethora of designs you could run with here, but we would recommend using some silver wallpaper with black or white walls to achieve a really nice monochrome look – but ultimately, the choice is down to you, don’t be afraid to experiment!
Magic Storage Space
Well, it’s probably not technically actual witchcraft, but you can create storage space out of pretty much anything these days if you hollow it out! We’ve seen this done with beds and chairs but our all-time-favourite bit of sneaky storage we’ve seen so far is a small set of stairs that lead up to an elevated bed, in which every stair was its own pull-out drawer! Perfect for when you just don’t know where to put everything – just store it out of sight and out of mind!
Make it Minimalist
You can sum up the average persons’ bedroom with one word: cluttered. People tend to just chuck anything into their bedroom because it’s the room your houseguests don’t often see! If you want a bedroom that you’ll be proud to show your friends then give it a good tidy up and only keep the basic furniture essentials in there – this will give it a far more modern and chic look. Get rid of the disorder and you’ll find yourself a lot more relaxed within there.
This is more suited for those that are looking for a long and challenging project, but if you’re feeling really brave when it comes to interior design, you could make use of a glass floor for a truly unique viewing experience. Definitely not for some people but if you like the idea of waking up to a view and impressing your houseguests then this a sure-fire way to achieve that.
We don’t mean paint your walls – get some shrubbery into your bedroom scene and you’ll actually increase the oxygen levels. A hanging basket or a potted plant can literally help breathe new life into the space. We’ve seen really creative ways of this executed too, with some even opting to grow a living wall of greenery! Who said that helping the planet and styling your bedroom couldn’t go hand in hand?
There we have it, some quality interior design ideas for your bedroom that you can try for yourself. So… what are you waiting for?
